Suriya is a Prince among men

The buzz surrounding AR Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu continues to mount. The Buddhist monk character portrayed by Suriya is especially interest worthy. Apparently this character is originally a Pallava prince named Bodhivarma. The Prince like Buddha himself renounces his Kingdom, becomes a monk and goes to China to spread the word about Buddhism.

The existence of this Prince has been recorded in history, but Murugadoss has given a fictionalized account of his life that is based on some true facts. It sounds fascinating for sure. Shruti Haasan is a scientist in the film. The film will alternate between the past and the present during the course of the narrative.

Pithamagan to be remade in Hindi?

National award winning Tamil film Pithamagan is likely to be remade in Hindi soon. Director Satish Kaushik, who has earlier remade Bala'sSethu with Salman Khan, has bagged the remake rights of the film. Though the starcast is not yet decided there are reports that Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan are likely to play the lead roles.

"I had seen Pithamagan on the big screen in 2003. I was moved by the story and especially the character played by Vikram. Since then I wanted to remake it and now I finally can," Kaushik said to a leading TV channel.

Pithamagan is about the unlikely friendship between Chithan (Vikram) who is orphaned at a young age, devoid of all human contact. lives on his animal instincts and seeks out a living as a graveyard caretaker and Sakthi (Surya) the conman.

Surya goes to Russia

Surya is now in Russia, shooting for KV Anand’s Maatraan, being produced by AGS Entertainment. 

Surya left on Thursday (Sep 29) for Moscow from where he will get to various locations for the shoot.

The actor, after a hectic audio launch campaign of his AR Murgadoss directed 7am Arivu, took off with his unit members. 

He will be there for a three week schedule during which KV Anand and his cameraman Soundar Rajan will shoot in different Russian towns and villages.

Maatraan has Kajal Agarwal playing the heroine with Marathi actor Sachin Khedekar doing the bad man’s role. 

It has music by Harris Jayaraj and will be Surya’s summer 2012 release.

Udhaynidhi watched '7aum Arivu' thrice, already!

Thoroughly impressed by his production venture '7aum Arivu', directed by AR Murugadoss with Suriya playing the lead role, Udhaynidhi Stalin has watched the movie three times so far, and is expected to watch again before it hits the screens on Diwali.

"This is for the first time Udhay is watching a film produced by him so many times, even before its release. Such was the impact 7aum Arivu has created on him. He was awestruck by Suriya's performance, Murugadoss' execution and many other things," sources say.

All these things have made Udhaynidhi to believe that the film would sure become a blockbuster
