Surya @ Golden Jubilee Annual RYA Book Bank Function

More than 2,500 students received books for various undergraduate courses this year as a part of the the golden jubilee annual book bank function of Rajasthan Youth Association (RYA) at Kamaraj Memorial Hall on Sunday.

RYA president Prem Bethala highlighted the various welfare schemes undertaken by the association. “It’s our vision at RYA that no student should be deprived of education for want of textbooks,” said Naresh Khivsara, book bank chairman.

Actor Surya distributed a few sets of books to the students and said students were living in time of wonderful developments all around and they should make the best use of it. Making the occasion even more special, post master general Merwin Alexander released a special postal cover to commemorate the golden jubilee year of RYA book bank.

The event was held on the eve of the birth anniversray of former Tamil Nadu chief minister K. Kamaraj, known for his service to education.

Singam 2 rocks at the Box Office

It's been almost two weeks, Singam 2 hits screens, but the film is still one of the most sought-after in the theatres. The film's collections have been steady and the Surya's performance in the film has been appreciated by all.

Added to that, the film doesn't have a strong competitor in Tamil. Though the Hindi release Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is receiving good reviews at the BO, it looks like Singam 2 is still giving a tough competition to the biopic.

Surya as Doctor in Linguswamy Movie

It looks like Surya is so impressed by his latest release Singam 2 that he is planning to do the cop act in his next as well. The actor, who has moved on to his next project in Tamil, which will be directed by Lingusamy, may play a cop in this film as well, if the reports are anything to go by.

The industry buzz is that the actor may play a doctor, who turns a cop towards the end. Rumour is that Surya will start off as a doctor and life-changing event makes him join the Indian Police Service. Though nothing has been confirmed yet, we will wait and see if Surya indeed plays a cop for sentimental reasons. - See more at:
