Surya pushes his body to the limits

We all know that Surya is one actor who never fails to push the envelope for his films. The cinematographer Priyan, recently shared his experience working with the actor, "I have been working with Surya since the past 8 years starting from Aaru to the recent Singam 2 and all along I have been amazed by the way he keeps his diet in control and the extremes to which he pushes his body, for each role. In the past 1 year or so, he must have had rice for hardly 3 to 4 days as he wished to maintain the mean, toned look as the super-cop.
His hard work, dedication and sincerity are all too well-known and I wish him a long and healthy life, on behalf of my camera crew and the Singam 2 team".

Priyan was happy about the success of Singam 2 and said that starting from the producers to the theater owners in all centers, people have made deserving money. The weekdays are still maintaining at 80% occupancy while the weekends are full, said a pleased Priyan.

A galloping Singam 2 beats Thuppakki !

Singam 2 is on a grand victory run across the world and not just in India. Malaysia is one such country where most of Surya's movies such as Vel, Ayan, Aadhavan, Vaaranam Aayiram, Maattrraan, 7am Arivu and Singam have done roaring business.

Ayan, Aadhavan and Singam are in fact in the Top 10 list of highest grossing Tamil films in Malaysia. Now Singam 2 has become the highest grossing Surya film in Malaysia and has breached the collections of even Vijay's biggest blockbuster Thuppakki.

Singam 2 has now collected 9.98 crores and is expected to collect even more, given the positive public reception that it has been getting. Thuppakki had collected 9.64 crores.

Now only Enthiran, Sivaji and Dasavatharam have collected more than Singam 2 with Enthiran holding the top slot, with a massive 17.54 crore gross. Sivajj had collected 15.41 crores while Dasavatharam had collected 10.45 crores. Singam 2 can be expected to breach the Dasavatharan mark pretty soon

Surya-Samantha’s film to begin from Aug 21

Surya and Samantha are going to team up for the first time in their career for an upcoming film to be directed by Lingusamy. The film is being touted as a romantic action flick and it’s going to be yet another typical Lingusamy entertainer. In the past, the director had made films like Awara, Vettai among many other hit films. The principal shooting is expected to begin from August 21 onwards. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music. More details about the film will be announced soon.

Few weeks ago, there was a big confusion over whether Surya is going to begun shooting for Lingusamy’s film or Gautham Menon’s film first. Finally, Surya seems to have decided to startoff with this untitled Lingusamy’s film since the casting for the other project is yet to be completed. On the other hand, for Samantha, this is the biggest Tamil project in her career and it’ll be interesting to see the onscreen chemistry between Surya and Samantha, who are two of the biggest heartthrobs in South.
